The rules and format for modern shooting evolved in Europe and the USA, and spread throughout the world by the late 19th century. The International Shooting Sport Federation was established in 1907, and shooting as a sport has also advanced in Korea with the establishment in 1955 of the Korean Shooting Federation. The International Shooting Sport Federation currently has over 100 member organizations and is headquartered in Germany.
